Hi Everyone,
I have been working on the essay for the Monomyth podcast that will be released in the next show. I am finding a lot of great information and I am having a hard time cutting any of it out.
The monomyth, as defined by Joseph Campbell has seventeen steps. With an introduction, the steps, criticisms, and, conclusion. I am planning to have twenty sections in the podcast. I have currently written six of the twenty. (Due to only having two-to-three hours between my kids bedtime and my own).
While it is tempting to release it out as twenty very small episodes, I’d rather send it all out as one big episode so it is in a simple package. Primarily for any teachers who would want their students to listen to just one show (hint, hint).
So please hang in there. I will send something out when it is ready. “Content it King” right?
Thanks to everyone who is listening and subscribing. I can’t believe how many people have subscribed and downloaded the previous shows. I’m confident the wait will be worth it.

I’m really enjoying Myth Show thus far, and thought I’d give a touch of feedback on length. Personally, I *really* prefer shows that stay around (or even under) 30 minutes. That’s not my commute time, but just the amount of time I usually find I can devote to a given episode for just about any show. I’d think it wouldn’t be bad to split your monomyth show into 2 parts. I don’t think you’d lose any audience bit, and if teachers want to use it for classes, I’d think it’d be easier to have smaller sections, to hold attention of youth better.
Just my two cents.
Thanks for the show!
Thanks for the comment. I agree with you. Your comments about time availability are really important.
Thinking about it I found that there are some natural breaks that I can take within the monomyth that work well.
Now, I just need to edit what I recorded last night!!!
Thanks, Greg
Class times tend to be in the 50 minute range as well, in American schools at any rate. If it were being played in class it would have to be broken up anyway.
