As discussed in Episode 4 of the Myth Show, here is the first Myth Minute on Heracles.

I hope that you enjoy the new show type.

    Hi Gregory!

I listened to your new episode of the myth Show and MythMinute. I was happy to hear that you started with the monomyth itself, something that has my deepest interest.

My first encounter with the Hero’s Path was many years ago through Storycraft (a software program for writers), and recently I read Vogler about the Path. Both are using the Joseph Campbell system, but I was wondering why there is a different between them. In the Storycraft system, the Call to adventure is Step 2, Hero meeting Ally is step 3, Hero on the Strange Place Edge is step 4. In the Vogler system, the Call to adventure is Step 2, Refusal of the Call is Step 3, meeting the mentor is step 4. Is is possible to change these steps without consequences? Just wondering how you think about it.

Sad to hear that you had to close your forum site because of problems with visitors. Sounds to me you have some threshold guardians there…

I am looking forward to the Initiation podcast! Even after knowing the general path descriptions by now, it helps to listen to it as well, instead of only reading or writing about it. As I told you in a previous comment, I used the monomyth in 2 of my novels and it really helped structuring it. I am working on a third novel and a screenplay at the moment, again, following the Path. My focus now is especially to get more insight in the archetypes; what they are, and where they show up in a story. Maybe you could do some shows on them as well.

    Keep on going!

    Greetings,
    André van Haren, Sweden

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for the comment and your previous emails. Tell me a little more about your novels (title, where to find them) I’ll plug them in the next show.

The Archtypes would be good for future shows. Where do you find information on them?

    Thanks, Gregory
