The Twitter Diet

This post has nothing to do with mythology, except that I’m trying to look like those statuses of ancient Greek Gods. Heracles here I come…(not really).

My wife has been an inspiration to me the past year in her goal to lose weight. She lost over 65 lbs (29 kg?) following the Weight Watchers program. Now she has become a “Lifetime” member and no longer has to pay for the meetings. Now it is my turn. I’m not sure how much I’m going to lose, but I have a lot of potential. And I’m going to use the power of Twitter to lose it.

The Weight Watchers program has assigned all foods a “point” value and allows you to each so many points per day. I’m going to post how many points I’ve eaten compared to how many I have available on my Twitter feed everyday and my weigh in results each week (Wednesday PM). Over the past two days, the thought of having to tell Twitter (and those who follow me) that I went over my “points” has stopped me from snacking on some food.

Motivation comes in many forms and I’m hoping that public humiliation will word for me. :) Will this make me a better podcaster, or student of mythology? Probably not, but at least I’ll be around longer.

If you’d like to follow my daily diet efforts (and random thoughts and events) I can be found at twitter.com/gregorylemon.
