For this Halloween episode, we are doing something different. Instead of diving into the stories of the past, I’m telling stories of the present. Urban legends are a more modern version of folklore where, instead of telling stories of hydras and butter cats, we tell stories of things that might just exist. In these, people are the true monsters, and the most mundane of situations can be strange, dangerous, and terrifying.

Disclaimer:
Not a lot of intense violence, but someone does lose an arm. A dog dies, too, but it's not graphic...just sad...
Most of the scares are psychological in nature, of people watching us when we don't know it. I find that to be very creepy, and young children might as well.

This was very scary omg
Im sorry to say it but this was the most boring thing to ever listen to, the detail he goes into is very useless and mostly never even affects the plot of the story #BigWasteOfTime
If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
It has a lot to say about society . There’s not much violence in it either.
This really says a lot about society

In the podcast you mentioned something about clowns and the uncanny valley of representation of human and the actual human where the image is repulsive something and mentioned that you will link an article in the notes. But I only saw the article about the Japanese woman in the cupboard.

Can you make a transcript of this episode? I’d love one.
So I watched Halloween Monday and I loved it as a 9 year old boy. The movie was like the first story with “mike Myers ” already in your house ?? I really hated the clown statue story sorry ?
“Faceless Old Woman” is more appropriate for this episode than you may know. She’s a character from Welcome to Night Vale, and she secretly lives in your home.
I love that podcast
I don’t see the article you said you’d link to about why clowns are so frightening.
