Frequently asked questions:
When is the book coming out?
If you didn't know, we have a book coming out with William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins! It's a definitive telling of the King Arthur legends. Currently, it's scheduled to come out in fall 2026.
I heard XYZ ad on the show. Do you endorse that company?
There are two types of ads on Myths and Legends, host-read and programmatic. Host-read ads are exactly what they sound like: ads read by Jason, Carissa, or both. These are companies we both vet and endorse. The other type sound more like radio ads and are not read by Jason or Carissa. They are inserted on a per-listener basis, and we have limited control over programmatic ads. As such, we do not necessarily endorse those companies. We have some control, but only on a broad category basis (e.g., no gambling companies, no sexually explicit companies, no politics, etc.) but we can't control what companies come up.
Do you use AI to write scripts, make music, make show art, etc.?
No. We proudly write all our own scripts from start to finish. We read every line in every episode in our own voices. Hopefully you can tell. Additionally, we only knowingly use art (music and images or anything else) that was made by humans. We truly love and enjoy the act of writing, and getting AI to do it would be like getting a machine to eat cake or go on vacation for you.
When is Fictional coming back?
Soon! The next season is mostly finished, Jason is just recording the last bit before he can start releasing them. We're aiming for May 2025.
When is Best of the Worst coming back?
Not sure. We have other projects we're working on and a show like BotW is challenging to research and monetize. If you'd like more, please let me know and we can explore that.
When is Scoundrel: History's Forgotten Villains coming back?
Probably never... Kast Media, the partner and production company for Scoundrel, declared bankruptcy last year after failing to pay podcast creators money they were owed. We own the IP and episodes for Scoundrel, but show is unlikely to continue unless we can secure ownership of the RSS feed as well.
