58-Native American Folklore: Monster

The first story today is from the Mik'maq, Passamaquoddy, and Maliseet people, about all the things that can go wrong when creating the animals and why you shouldn't drink gross monster waste water. The second story is from the Cree people, about Monster Skunk farting everyone to death because this is a serious podcast that takes itself very seriously.

The creature is evil. Literally, she is the embodiment of evil from Russian folklore...a little old lady living in the woods.

I love this episode! I really want to see the cheesy B-movie for Monster Skunk.

Speaking of cheesy B-movies… There is one called Frogs. It’s from 1972 and deals with frogs taking their revenge on people. I couldn’t help but think of that during the first part of the episode.

Where did you find the Monster Skunk story?

I have no idea how you managed to say “farted them to death” so many times without giggling once but the 10 year old boy inside this 40 year old man hasn’t stopped grinning all day! Loved this.
