🏝️No one has seen or heard about Maui for quite some time
Meanwhile, all these strange portents are leading disparate groups to a faraway island, all the while there are ominous tales spoken in whispers. It's probably ok, right? I mean, it's Maui. He's always looking out for us.
Right?
😈 The Creature: Menehune
They'll build things for you (out of love), or they'll shoot you (also out of love?) but you better not watch them do either.

Disclaimer
Ok, so, strong disclaimer this week. Also, spoilers. Maui, in his attempt to be born backwards out of a being that's kind of but not really death, he decides he must enter her vagina and be born out of her mouth. Therefore, we will all have immortality.
But wait, there's more. She wakes up as he's entering and, surprise, she has obsidian teeth in her vagina, crushes and beheads Maui, and that's how he dies.
The scene is 100% not sexual and really should be read in a birth/death framing, but it's hard to rationalize away what's literally happening.
